The ISA in IndiaISA in India

"The International School Award helps schools establish creative and effective international partnerships"

Mr Bill Rammell, Minister for Lifelong learning, Further and Higher Education, UK, speaking at the ceremony as he presented India's successful schools with the ISA in August 2005 in New Delhi.

What is the ISA and how does India participate?
The ISA is an accreditation scheme run by the British Council for the Department for Children, Schools and Families in the UK. There is no fee and the ISA is open to all schools (nursery to sixth form) throughout India. The scheme recognises good practice in adding an international dimension to the school curriculum.

Indian schools that successfully attain the Full ISA Award are accredited for three years. During this time they will be able to use the British Council ISA for purposes of publicity and promotion of the school. The schools aspiring to the ISA are given advice and guidance by the British Council in planning, executing and recording international activity in the school.

The schools produce a portfolio of evidence showcasing the range of their international activity throughout the school year. Schools in India interested in support or guidance should contact the British Council India Team (see below).
