An opportunity for young talent to experience
first-hand the major new countries of the global economy...
The Prime Minister's Global Fellowship is an opportunity for
UK school and college leavers (age 18+) to engage with
exciting international opportunities for their future.
Cultures and people around the world
are connected more than ever before, opening up exciting
possibilities for young people. It matters that today’s generation
of young people grow up understanding first-hand what globalization
means for people and are confident to make the most of the
opportunities of the twenty first century. The Prime Minister’s
Global Fellowship has been created to nurture outstanding talent
and enterprise through international exposure to different
countries and their way of life.
The Global Fellowship
programme
The Prime Minister's Global Fellowship programme offers 100
school and college leavers the opportunity to experience first-hand
the social, economic and environmental impact of globalisation. We
work with self-starting young people from all over England and
facilitate conversations with their peers, families, teachers and
business people in the tiger economies of Brazil, China and India,
strengthening mutual trust and understanding between
them.
The tailor-made six-week trip is made up of three
parts:
- two weeks language and cultural immersion
- two weeks staying in a local school and staying in a host
family
- two weeks in a global company (we work in partnership with
global corporate brands such as HSBC, Cadbury, Tata and KPMG)
On their return all Fellows join a network of globally-minded
young people who share their experiences and learning on local and
national platforms and are given the opportunity to share their
story with a wide range of people, decision makers and community
leaders.
Applications are open until 18th December
2009. The programme is fully-funded.
